You and I (Ire) was bought for NewROG from the Brightwell Cheltenham NH Sales on 16th April 2008, having originally come from Fairtown Stud in Ireland and in training by Shane Donohoe. You and I is a gorgeous, compact and athletic looking 5-y-o bay gelding by Anshan, out of Aidas Girl. Raced twice over in Ireland in Point-To-Points, You and I (or Yogi as he has been nicknamed) won his second start on 5th April 2008 over 3 miles on Soft ground in a competitive race. Last season Yogi had four runs culminating in a very impressive front running win on 27th May at Southwell over 2miles 5 ½ furlongs. Not wanting to over-race Yogi during his first season with us, and with the ground turning too firm, we decided to turn Yogi out to grass at the beginning of June. You and I returned to Seven Barrows after 5 weeks ‘summer holiday’, not only looking stronger and better than ever but also having grown ½ inch too. Yogi’s pre-training, training and schooling preparation has gone to plan and we are looking to run him very soon, now that the rain has come. This season we will be going Novice Chasing off a mark of 109 and it looks like it will be a very exciting winter and spring campaign for NewROG.
